Lake Lanier water temperature is 55 degrees and the lake is 8 feet below full pool. Fishing on the south end of Lanier has been perfect! We have been having the best luck on medium to large Gizzard Shad either store bought or fresh from the lake. If you want to catch your own bait head back to the creeks. Fishing remains incredible on the south end of the lake.  Kyle and I went out yesterday in the rain after installing the wind curtains on this 20' rental boat.  What a help this was.  Stripers are literally piled up like firewood in our secret spot.  We only fished for a few minutes before returning to the Bait Shack, but we boated several fish just playing around.

Fishing has been good this past couple of days.  Trolling Umbrella Rigs seems to be paying off.  Troll these rigs 100 feet back with a loaded 4 arm.  Don't forget to change colors from the normal white jig to Chartreuse on cloud cover days.  This makes all the difference in the world.
