Here is something you do not see everyday.  A Gar caught on an Umbrella Rig.  Fishing is actually getting better with the rising temperatures.  Reports from the south end of the lake are Stripers are feeding in Bald Ridge Creek, from half way back all the way into the shallower waters.

BALD RIDGE CREEK.  Fish have been moving back into the creeks in search of bait and warmer waters.  This fish was caught by Kyle on light leader line, a small splitshot and a light hook with a flat lined Herring.  Don't forget to come by the BaiT sHacK to get your fresh Blue Back Herring.

Fishing on the lake is finally picking up.  The water temps in the back of creeks on the south end are touching 50.  Small flat lined minnows seem to be working great slow trolled 3/4 back into major creeks.  Umbrella bite is coming back on from a few reports.  This weekend with the warmer temps should be awesome.

No doubt the fishing has been tough in the last week.  Most of the fish have come from area in and around Flat Creek and Balus Creek.  It seems that Umbrella Rigs are still working, but you are definately going to have to cover some water to get that one bite.  The Lake Lanier Striper Club had it's monthly Striped Bass tournament today and out of 13 boats, only 9 boats landed fish.  Team BaiT sHacK landed first place with 2 St...
